East Coast Classic

Challenge

More than 25 years ago, Sport Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame partnered with Canadian Airlines International to begin a celebrity charity golf tournament. The tournament combined executive golf, client networking, fundraising for sport and East Coast hospitality for three days at the Pines Resort in Digby, Nova Scotia. This amazing event showed its longevity by commemorating its 25th Anniversary in July of 2011.

Execution

Leanne has been a volunteer for this charity golf tournament thirteen years, primarily handling the public relations, marketing and entertainment functions. In 2007, Leanne, representing Studio 11, along with Angela Manders-Godfrey became the event managers for the East Coast Classic. Paul was hired the same year for an event re-brand as well as new marketing and promotional ideas.

Results

The East Coast Classic has grown into one of the most successful charity golf tournaments in Canada. Each year, 34 teams and celebrities enjoy three fun-filled days of golf and entertainment, raising dollars for Sport Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame and local Digby charities. For the past three years, through successful event management, the East Coast Classic has generated more than $250,000 for these beneficiaries. Visit www.eastcoastclassic.org to learn more.
